I have a 2001 integra ls. My friend was putting in a battery and the positive hit the chassis. Now my alternator fuse keeps blowing. It is a 7.5 fuse. i tried replacing the alt , ecu,looked for fried wires nothing.
It blows a fuse when it is turned on like to start it.
Any clues. No shop will look at it because it a crv vtec and turbo. It was running fine before the battery install, I was only replacing the battery because it was 4 years old. Hope somebody can help. thanks greg

 

if it keeps blowing, you have a short somewhere that you need to find.

my alternator had an internal short, but it kept blowing the battery fuse... the 70A one..

 

but where any hints as where to look

 

get your service manual and check out the wiring diagrams to isolate your problem..

we traced mine to my brand new alternator..got another one and its been working fine..

mine had a little piece of metal bouncing around inside and eventually getting stuck and shorting out

we found it when we took the alternator case off

 

Mine was the o2 wire that grounded out.
