$2,000 for a 94 Integra RS with a maintanance light on?
I bought an '94 Integra last night for 2000. I jumped at the chance as soon as i saw it, because i thought it was a steal. I am having a little bit of second thoughts now. I am hoping that you all know the market value of these cars enought to tell me how well (or terrible) of a deal i made.
The one biggest fear i have is that the check engine light is on and smog will be due soon. the car is all stock with 234k miles, no body damage and clean inside and out. there may be a slight tap/knock inside the engine, and the automatic transmission is a little sloppy feeling. what do you guys think, did i do good? should i try and flip it for a profit? should i get rid of it for whatever cash i can get and cut my losses? thanks guys.
im not sure how much longer this link will be active, but this was the ad where i found the car. it has a few pictures too.

Is your check engine light on? or the maintenance light?
The maintenance light doesnt mean ****. If it is the cel, pull the code.

I'm sorry it is not the check engine light like i thought it was. It is the maintenance required light. What a relief that it is relitively unimportant.
Luckily no it is not a salvage title. although the ignition can be started with any key and i was told that it has been stolen before. the radio is missing but there is no other evidence of theft.
one more thing the windshield does have a mild crack along the bottom.
thanks again guys.

Yeah the maintenance light doesnt mean anything, it comes on every so many miles automatically just as a reminder to make sure your maintenance is up to date. You can reset the light, check the faq sticky at the top of this page and it will tell you how to reset it.
thanks guys im stoked about this car. i got that maintenance light off thanks to you guys and the faq. My mind is at ease now, cause i know its gunna pass smog with flying colors. The automatic transmision is still kinda messed up feeling though and that is gunna drive me nuts.

You guys really think this is a steal? Well I dont necessarily think it's a steal, maybe an OK price, because 234,000 miles is a lot. But best of luck on this project
It's a decent deail, I got my GF DB for 1,900 it's a 94LS, with a JDM LS engine, with 45K on it paper work and everything!
ehhhh i dont think its that good of a deal
sloppy automatic transmission
no radio
234k
you can maybe sell it for 2500 if your lucky.....its a good deal but not a flipper by any means...if you have hook ups fix that window, throw in a cheap deck and give it a tuneup...maybe you can sell it for 3k+ there
