01 Exhaust DX LX EX
Hey all, I'm really wanting to buy a cat back for my civ but on the website it says it fits my year (01) coupe's, but I've got an EX and it says its for the DX and LX. How much difference is there and can I make it work? I'd like some help cause after shipping its almost 500 bucks. Thanks everyone!

it is different because we have our cat on our header, and EX's have a cat in the rest of the exhaust piping. to make a lnog story short, if u want an EX exhaust to work, u need EX header+downpipe+cat then u can use EX exhaust.
If u want to keep ur LX header/cat, keep looking or do what i did, but a nice canister and get custom piping made to fix the LX downpipe.

I do infact have an EX Civic coupe, just like it says in my original post and me sig. The Exhaust system I want is for the DX/LX. I'm really confused here, can I buy it and make it work or not? Normaly I'd just buy the EX exhaust, but there is a 250 dollar difference between the DX/LX version and the EX version.(the reason being that this particular exhaust IN ex form sells for over 700 retail and I found the DX/LX version on ebay for a little under 500). Thanks again guys
What exhaust system is it, they may make it for the EX.
I do believe that the B-pipe is shorter or longer on the DX/LX than the EX.
Let me check some sources and get back with you.
EDIT: By what it looks like, the DX/LX B-pipe off of the manifold/cat, is actually a slip on type fitting. Here is what I am looking at...
The DX/LX pipe is #13. And you can see the differences in connection methods to the pipe in front of it.
The only thing you would need to do by what it looks like, is weld a fitting on the end of the LX/DX exhaust system you buy, that will match the 3 hole triangular patter on the EX cat. That would be my first guess.

ESPELIR Exhaust Catback. My best friend has one on his STi and it is the most awesome sounding exhaust I've ever heard, ofcourse I understand its not gunna sound the same on my civic, but it has a real throaty purr at idle and sweet hum rather then high WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN under acceleration.

are you planning on keeping your cat? if so, like i said above.
if not, you'll need a lx/dx header and it'll bolt up to your car.
2nd option is best. of course you will have to extend o2 sensor wiring.

http://www.dezod.com/pd_espelir.cfm They make that exhaust for the EX...
Get that instead of worrying about fabrication.

an STI has an amazing sounding exhaust no matter WHAT canister is on it, the boxster style engine's just always sound mean.
Although the exhaust might be awesome, it will sound a LOT different on your em2 than it does on his STI.
STI's have a sweet rumble, that no honda's make ( without cams that is
)
