just recently put a b16a in a 91 stock dx hatch. the complete swap was bought off a friend who had a 91 si hatch. we pulled the motor and put a cluth in the lsd trans. everything else was stock. we did the swap and got everything to fit right. the next project was the wiring!!!! and adding the injectors n vtec.. the injectors, resitor box and all other sensors were done correctly (we think ) had a friend help out wit the dpfi to the mpfi swap. We wired the vtec soleniod what we thing was correct, and had some one do the pinouts in the ecu. first crank over started but had a low surge and missed alot. we figured out we had bad plugs n the wrong firing order. we fixed that and the car seemed to idle fine. on the first ride vtec engaged but a 3,000 RPM???? resason????? after a few rides and acouple days later vtec STOPPED ENGAGING and only enaged when it wanted to. we check the ecu and it threw codes 1,3,7. we know we have a o2 sensor problem. we swapped the vtec soleniod wit a 2000 gsr that was cleaned, VTEC STILL DIDNT ENGAGE. need help???? sensors unplugged? opinions????
First start off fixing the codes, vtec will not engage if CEL is on
wat ecu are you using?
Code 1= Oxygen Content
Code 3=Manifold Absoulte Pressure
Code 7=Throttle Angle

yes you need to fix these CELs each will cause Vtec not to engage...i believe that for a MPFI swap you need to switch wires on the MAP sensor that may cause that CEL and you may need to swap a known working TPS and/or make sure it is working properly should be .45v at idel

we just did a MPFI swap on our freinds car and we definatly had to mess with the wiring of the TPS and MAP it was in the writeup my freind printed out so thats probally why ur throwing the codes .. go threw the wiring and make sure its all correct
