Default Wiring battery straight to head unit.

Hey guys, (put original post in wrong forum, sorry :-\)

I have a 96 Civic EX Coupe, and i have a JVC Headunit. I've contacted JVC because whenever bass hits i seem to loose power to my speakers for a split second, sounds like the cd is skipping. JVC said that i have to wire a power line directly from the battery to the head unit, could anyone tell me how to do this, what wires i need, etc. Thanks much

What you need is a 12-14 ga wire long enough to reach from the head unit to the battery, fuse holder for the appropriate size wire, a fuse for said fuse holder (15A should be adequate) and proper terminals to attach to the battery.

Cut the yellow wire from the deck, and cap off (or depin) vehicle side of that wire. Attach 12-16 ga wire to yellow wire going into the deck, and solder & tape. Run wire through firewall towards the battery and attach fuse holder. Connect to battery..

If you have difficulties with this concept, you should probably pay a shop to do this for you.
