wtf timing belt wont go on

I have my b16 sitting here on the floor and tensioner is loosened. How the expletive is the belt supposed to go around the cam gears. I pulled it with all my might and it is too tight to fit around.

byt the tensioner you mean the nut near the middle of the cover?

it should have tons of slack.... you obviously didnt losen the tentioner enough.

Are you sure you have the right belt? I just did mine and it was a bit sung,but nothing had to really mes with to get it to go over the cam gears.
