Default Tein S-tech on 4gen

Ok, a couple of weeks ago I installed skunk2 sleeve coilovers. They rode extremely hard and Im just glad I didnt bend a rim. so I took em off and returned them and got my $250 back. I know tein is a good name when it comes to suspension parts and wanted to know If anyone Is running them on stock/non-adjustable shocks. They fit my price range and I have heard nothing but good things about them on the 5th gens. I just want to make it not look like a truck and get rid of some wheel well gap. I also realize that they are a mild drop but with my gay 18in. wheels I dont want to push my luck. Soooo 4gen pics and oppinions would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. PA. roads suck

as it sits

is it me, or is your muffler bent?

and yeah, i am usually never one to advocate lowering just to lower, but with those rims. you need to lower

the muffles is some cheap universal thing with 2 1/2 SS piping all the way up to the cat. It has all of the hangers but for some reason it still droops. but thanks for the thoughts. So tein s-tech or eibach pro-kit ? yes I researched. I just need a good daily driver spring

If I had to choose between Tein and Eibach...It would be TEIN!

why? because its jdm?

tein is overrated, the only reason their springs are on my car is because I got them for free

Not because they are JDM, I could careless about that. I would pick them because I have heard nothing but good about their products. If I were to hear good stuff about Eibach then I would choose Eibach. I havent really heard anything about them so why not go with something that is known to have a great reputation on a prelude!? Correct me if I am wrong.

I dont even have TEIN, I have neuspeeds. So thats why I said" <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by WhiteBB2 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">If I had to choose between Tein and Eibach...It would be TEIN! </TD></TR></TABLE> "

Eibach springs stickers reside on the side of countless race cars

tein stickers appear on the side of countless rice cars

not to say that they make a bad product, but performance-wise, TEINs suck....a good set of eibach springs and appropriately valved shocks.....

Tein helpfully lists springrates, and yes, the S-tech is really soft.

edit: and for the OP, that probably isn't a bad thing.

Tein's are fine for dd street use, but you a need quality <U>engineered</U> combination like Koni + Ground Control/Eibach for anything more.

I never said that Eibach was bad...But how many people in here actually have Eibach on their preludes that can vouch for them?! Not many...This is one of those damn battles of personal preference...In this case I have no personal preference with either company. Get what best suits you. Im done.

I had Eibach's on Koni shocks. Ride was fabulous. Don't know about the 4th gen version, but the Pro Kit for the 5th gen left a two finger gap up front and a 1 finger gap in the rear. You can't tell unless you look for it.

I have s-techs with tokico illuminas... its fine for DD use, but I think I may eventually get something more stiff once I am done using the Prelude for DD purposes. I would get H&R Race, but thats probably too much drop for me and I don't feel like dealing with a camber kit : \

With those rims the s-techs will probably just make your car look normal and not lowered... you may want something in the 1.5 - 2" drop range, its hard to tell because I am using a really crappy monitor. Maybe a pic with a ruler/fingers between the gap?

eibachs are arguably the best "springs" out there

not only are they reasonably priced, they have a long track record and alot of r&d behind em

they wind more spring for more companies than you'd think.. check it out

if i wasnt running my free omni's right now..id probably consider ground controls (eibach springs) and koni's to be my #1 choice..check out what the guys in Honda Challenge run
