Default 1998-2001 Accord Problems?

I'm looking to buy an Accord (4cyl, 5spd.) between 1998 and 2001, and I'm wondering if there's any problems I should be aware of, or any models to steer clear of.

Thanks!

With the 5 spd, not really. Just watch out for your usual maintenance stuff. There was a ignition switch recall, but that isn't a big deal since the dealership will take care of that for free.

Check the stupid clock light too. Get a 98 to avoid the ULEV.

The f23a4 and the f23a1 are virtually the same thing....the only signficiant differences is a restricted exhaust, exhaust manifold, and there has been talk about the ECU.

Don't get the DX: no VTEC....LX or EX has what you want!

Yeh, recall no big deal, the dealer will fix for free....

cats don't last that long, I have 2 6th gen and BOTH of the cats died...

do the timing belt, water pump, change the oil and you are good to go

By the way, my car just turned 194K and my wifes is 188k....both run strong!
