Default Type-R Fit in my 2003 ex?

well since getting any REAL HP out of this shitty d17 is almost impossible so I would like to know if a type R will fit without any cutting or "rigging" of my car?

You talking about a K20A? You wouldn't be the first...

Read this thread, and ask the people that have done it questions.....

And here is a website you can check out for the parts list.

K20a = JDM DC5 type R = YES
b18c5 = DC2 Type R = NO

NO bseries work in em2's, or H's or F's, or old D's, or R's

K20a goes in like a charm, getting it past your state's smog officials is the tough bit. Tho you're not in CA so it might be easier to get it thru.

For cheaper and less hassle try the new Si engine, plus you get that lovely LSD.

Yeah, the LSD, and the dreaded DBW system too . Just go with the suggestions B18a_CRX made. He had some good words of wisdom.

You can just use the a2 TB and bits to eliminate the DBW, it's evidently pretty strait forward. Ask the K24 swappers about it.

K20A transmissions have LSD's.

The K20a2 is the USDM RSX-S engine, and it doesn't have a mechanical LSD. The last USDM honda to have an LSD was the old type-r.

Some dealerships offer an LSD, bud. My buddy's RSX Type-S came with one from the dealership.

Say what? It was put in by the dealership then, and it was either a sourced JDM LSD, 06 Si LSD or a Quaife.

BTW--LSDs have shown up in other FWD Acuras as well since the DC2R has been around. TL Type-S, CL Type-S, etc.

*I should have said, 4 cyl honda/acura motors.

My best freind just bought a new '06 RSX-s and no where on the option sheets did it ever mention an LSD. It's certainly not OE equiptment on any RSX I've driven nor is it an official option from honda.

I've never heard of honda dealers doing LSD installs on their own. Tho like most things it may happen. I've always daydreamed about running a small motorsports slanted dealership and offering 'dealer's special' packages to customers. Either way it's not on the honda spec sheet.

I'm thinking he must have begged for one, because I don't know anyone but him to have one.

That's all good, I'll just edit my prior post, for ease of the users.
