Default Is my tranny about to go?

so the other day i was driving and my clutch pedal was really soft and mooshy. it felt like stepping on a tomato. after it got really mooshy, i could powershift the car w/o any effort. i could go from 1st to 2nd with a little bit of struggling. but like when i went to work today, the clutch pedal had like 1 inch to maybe to inchs of play before totally enguaging. i dont know if having gm syncromesh friction modified really makes a difference or not. i think its my clutch but i want to be totally sure.
