Turbo kit off ebay
I found complete turbo kits on ebay for about 900. I was wondering, if this is a complete waste of money. If any of yall have botton one, or have any advice i apprciate it.

as long as it isnt an SS auto chrome, i hear horrendous things about them. My friend bought one of those kits you listed and used everything but the turbo. It is all working good for him. The intercooler and piping and manifold and stuff is what he got it for, just so he could put on a turbo he won playing poker. lol
Just make your own custom turbo thats what i did. Its cheaper and when you purchase kits sometimes some of the parts wont work on your car you have to buy more stuff makes it more time and money consuming.
watch the expletive out for an ebay kit....dont think for a second that when you pay for it that the guy is gonna ship out that exact kit....you might end up with something that joe dirt would make.....if i were you, i'd just take the time and source all the parts for a home made turbo kit, and do it that way...so you'll actually know what your buying before you actually buy it....but thats just me
my boy is running a ssac kit and nothin has happened to it
he's had for about uhmm a year now he's running13 flat with the kit
just the header cracked once and he rewelded it other wise the kitt is doing good as hell
he said he broke the **** in for a hour just idlein and then slowie started to use the trubo so it brake in nice
but that could just be sum bull **** who knowsss

my freind got a one fab style manifold for 180 shipped, he welded the expletive out of it to support it and it works out fine. THe turbos are hit or miss, some times u get a good one and sometimes u get a pos. I would get a junkyard t3 or borg warner (they are like t3/t4 with t3 input flange) The intercoolers work fine and the piping does fine aslo. The wastegates seems to work perfect (ive seen 3 hold perfect boost) . THe bov is ok, it was a pos to install (hks knock off).
<------ doesnt own any ss auto **** minus my ebay intercooler

All I'll say is you get what you pay for...
There has been plenty of reported problems with SSAC and like Ebay kits, turbos blow easy...may be due to user error and improper break in? Wastegates usually come with the wrong spring or the diagfram is twisted/kinked, manifold are nitourious for cracking, very thin metal, warped flanges and improper bracing, IC are under efficient but usually will not make any difference for low boost cars
I don't know what they supply if anything for fuel management but you could peive together a decent kit for around the saem price but you will need to do research and know what you are doing, which you should do even if you buy a complete kit...if you don't know what you are installing or how it works you more than likely just kill you motor...HTH

hit and miss is all ive heard about ebay turbo kits.
Question: what about buying known name brand turbo kits, wether its ebay, website, or retailer.
Question2: would ordering a turbo from an online retailer or manufacturers website direct from them a better option over ebay?

You will more than likely find dealers (not the manufactuers) selling the turbo kits for cheaper...unless you have an inside person or can get them to believe you are a dealer
the difference between buying a ebay kit and "name brand kit" will be some quality and more so the price...you will pay for the name brand stuff...dosen't mean it is better but more than likely the bigger compnays will stnand beind there product and not ship you garbage out of the box like SSAC has been known to do...

Forget ebay, I mean there are some decent people out there but there are also scammers. and with something that pricey ur better off with a name brand one like GREDDY.
I bought the greddy kit for the b'series its pretty nice and meant for the b-series.
btw I'm going to be selling it soon for cheaper than those kits on ebay..

the thing about EBAY is that they can use whatever picture they want - so if the picture if different from what you get, they are not at fault - just as long as it abides by the description. Unless the description says something "as pictured" or whatever. I got screwed that way
