Default My new CRX Si?

ok so my friends told me they wanted their crx that they bought outta their garage and i could have it for my sub woofers.

Its a '87 dx body but the guy before than swapped it for the SI motor. Its a carb motor.

The things wrong: head gasket blown (because the radiator fan went out), the radiator fan and there is no battery. How do i know what kinda motor it REALLY is and where (besides ebay) can i find COOL stuff for it(body kit, lights, engine stuff.) I have an acura legend right now and i want to put money in this car but not alot (not enough for a turbo or anything).

PLEASE help!!!

i wouldnt worry about getting anything for the car, if it was me and the body was good i would try to make some money off of the car..you got the car for like 200 three hundred bucks right?i would gut it and sell all of the panels etc off the car, or try selling it to someone who wants an 87. 1 if it has a blown headgasket it needs a new motor, or at least a new headgasket and maye more..this guy gave you a problem the reason he got rid of it so cheap..unless you want to sink some money into it i would try to part it out piece by piece or sell it as a whole or put a junkyard motor in it and make more money..look next to the transmission across from the radiator fan in the middle of the block there should be letters which designate which engine it is

those crxs are hard to find parts too and the motors are carborated. get with the times. carborators are for musle cars and stuff. i would get it and fix it up a little and put it on auto trader. engine swaps are hard and what not

its not a 89. i think its a '87 but the body is a '86. It does run. The kids drove it in the middle of the night when it was cooler to their place. They said it just smokes when they start going. I ordered a fan for $50 off ebay and im gonna send it to a shop for the head gasket then sell it.
