D15B2 upgrades????
I dont really wanna do an engine swap on my civic right now it might happen next year. Its just a daily driver, but I wanna make it just a little more fun to drive. Im thinking about putting around $200 into it, but I dont know what to do. I know almost all of you will say engine swap but like I said I dont wanna put that much $ into my civic right now. Any ideas???? thanx.
for 200 bucks on a wagovan, you really not going to get a noticeable upgrade..the dual point kinda stinks..to get a noticeable difference and better gas mileage i would try to source parts to do a mpfi conversion...all you need is 4 injectors a si or dx ecu a mpfi intake manifold wire and a injector resistor box and a lot of patience..i have all these things i will sell relatively cheap all i dont have is a injector resistor box as i still using mine..i did my conversion pretty cheap and i noticed a large difference and still yet the swap may seem diffucult but anyone can do it with some patience and a soldering tool..

price varies and junkyards are iffy, most si's have been raped already..
d16a6 intake manifold (complete)
pm6 ecu
mpfi injector resistor box
88-91 si or hf distributor
injector plugs

you could probobly find a injector resistor box on ebay or something you may get lucky and find one on an integra or something i would definetly go with an mpfi conversion and a cam you will notice 10 to 20 horsepower difference roughly with a jump in gas mileage

Would you be interested in selling all that? Every junkyard I've been to doesn't have one single SI. I can find the MPFI manifold easily (off like a D15B7) but I don't know where I'm going to get an SI distributor or a PM6 ECU

well i actually have the whole engine in the back ... its a d16a1 / the wiring/ injector box / misc. stuff/ and 2 ecus that i dont use a pm9 and a pg4. i dont know if any of this stuff is good for you ... but i know injector box has universal applications.
why should he get an si trans.. everything iv heard is that only the 5th gear is different the rest is the same as the dx trans.. thats what i got from a thread on here. id rather have a longer 5 gear for the highways. do a zc swap.. cheap and more power.
no its not the only difference i have had both trannys ... and all the gears are shorter including the 5th of course ... it would be nice to have the same 5th gears as the dx for highway driving ... im just gonna do that when i need to rebuild it .. i have all three of the trannys (STD/DX/Si) so i know what the difference is (not to mention i rebuild trannys all the time)
I forgot the si tranny...If you plan on staying d series than Si tranny is the best deal because if you get a d16 or zc later it comes with everything except wiring and injector box.
DX tranny blows as does a LS tranny does for b series
