Default '99 EX-V6 with 86K or new??

I loved my car, a '99 EX-V6 purple coupe. But it was just totaled. After feverishly hunting for a replacement, I finally found it. Identical but with silver pinstripes I'm OK with. This car has 86,000 miles on it, and I was pretty close to that myself. I'm fairly set on buying it if it passes visual inspection and a test drive. But I want to put it out there for opinions.

I'm wary because I haven't had it through all its mileage. I'm OK with putting in a few hundred dollars for minor fixes, and I'm a good owner (agressive oil changes, routine inspections). I prefer to buy rather than lease (can't afford to buy new Accord), and expect to keep for many years. Should I get this car I know and love or look at something new?

Thanks to all for answering my previous post!

I wouldn't worry about it at all.

The engine isn't even to it's severe-service interval yet (timing belt, transmission service etc), and as long as you get those taken care of, and of course usual maintenance, you'll be just fine for years and years to come.

Did you run a carfax, and/or ask about maintenance history?

I have a 99 EX V6 with 105K.

If it was me I would buy something new. The car runs great and I like it a lot but It has more problems than my 92 mazda pick up.

Its a hit or miss with these Accords. The 98-99 Accords are said to have fewer probs with the tranny.

If everything checks out fine id get it for the right price.
