Default Noob Question: JDM foglight switch? (searched)

So what's the difference between the JDM and USDM switches?
And for those that have this kit, where's it recommended to install the switch?

I sound like a retard.

....the JDM ones you place in the middle near the hand brake where you have slots covered by "caps" well you pop em out and wire the JDM switch and put it in the place of the poped out cap. The usdm ones I never seen them probably because it didn't look for it.
But if you looked for it you would found it on google..

Thanks.

I searched here and google, too. I promise I wasn't lying when I wrote (searched). Didn't find any results though, maybe I was overlooking something. But thanks anyways for the response.

ps.
I'm talking about a 5th gen...
I guess the switch would be installed in place of the opening underneath the cruise/sunroof/dimmer controls. Right?

Ok man I'll see if I can find ya a site that shows the switch and installation...and I guess the location is different from 1992-1993 I think then 1994-1996 different center consol (is that how you spell it? )anyways mine has about four I think empty slots just covered that can be taken out for the half mast switch, the foglight switch, and I guess others I haven't found out about...

Yeah, well mine's for a 97. I supposed I can just wait until they're finally shipped and figure it all out when they come.

Oh well mine is 95 lol, I guess the switch will look almost the same, but wiring the switch will be different, and I don't know if your foglights come pre-wired like the 4th gens do.

The switch is different I don't know where it goes on your car thought. I guess that does have everything, I just couldn't find a site with the instructions, click the picture on this site, it has the switch and how everything looks and what you need, so check everything the eBay one has and make sure it has everything. http://www.passwordjdm.com/pro...D=203

I don't know if you understood what I ment by pre-wired, from what alot of people have told me, the wires for the fourth gen Prelude are behind the bumper so it's just hook up, I don't know if the 5th gen has them aswell

Ah, right. I guess I'll find out when they come. That ebay posting said avg install takes 30-45mins, I imagine it can't be too bad either way.
Thanks for your help.

First off you are getting a jdm fog lamp kit right?
Second the usdm and jdm switches are totally different (from what i hear.)

I also know (from what i've seen) that the usdm fog lamp kits, the projector ones, come with a new cruse, sunroof, and dimmer mount so you can mount the new fog lamp switch. i dont know if you can still get them from honda but it is worth a try to ask. its on my list of things to do when i get my jdm fogs in. Also what ive seen most people do is remove one of the switches typically the dimmer b/c it isn't used that much for most people.

Awesome. Yeah I was thinking about removing one of those as well. I guess I'll give Honda call tomorrow first though.

Yeah, i think its alot nicer to have all your switches and cleaner. I think the only cosmetic difference is the fog picture on the switch is sideways b/c the switch mounts horizontally apposed to vertically . let me know if you can still get the switch mount.

Yeah, definitely. I'll see what they say. But if they do have it, I'm sure it will be tripled the price of what it's worth. Would be ideal to get the USDM so I could still keep my dimmer. I KNOW I'm going to miss it when it's gone, even though I never use it.

But the JDM fogs look so much better IMO. I was thinking the same thing, i know the day i remove the dimmer is the night im gonna want to use it, haha.

i have the jdm fogs, yes the wires are inside the bumper, fairly easy to install and i did buy off the same company/seller and mine were missing 2 nuts but i didnt bother complaining. as for the switch, personally i think the jdm switch looks cooler and you still have the little hole under the switches (i keep my garage remote there so its useful to me) and i dont miss my dimmer switch at all.
