Default JG/Edelbrock Intake Manifold

i have a 98 gs and was looking at an intake manifold for my car. i just recently learned that i can order the jg/edelbrock intake manifold from my work for a little over 300 dollars. unpolished of course. looking at the manifold, i cant tell if i can use all my factory hoses and sensors for it. will this manifold bolt up to my engine with no problems and still use all my factory hoses and sensors? also, what kind of throttle body should i use with that manifold? any good companies i should go with? thanks for any help

i dont think a stock GS motor would gain much from that intake manifold.

if anything it could even make u loose hp.

its just that the design of that manifold is meant to give hp increases from about 6k-10k rpm's in highly strung all motor cars and boosted cars.. U will for sure loose ALOT of low end, a little mid range, and u might possibly increase peak hp, but id be afraid u would loose hp all the way till 6500, then have and extra 2-3hp from 6.5-7k.. this is just my guessing, but I dont think it would be worth the money on an LS motor..

unless you go f/i on that b18b, this manifold isn't right for you. It's designed to make most of it's power from 7,000 to 10,000 RPM's which is out of the power range of the b18b cams and beyond your redline/fuel cut-off. If you're interested in making more power, look into cams and valvetrain before you concentrate on an itm. good luck
