EX vs. SI Intake
Quick question... I'm looking into purchasing a cold air intake, and if its SI specific, does that mean it won't work on my EX coupe? Fujita seems to be the only that includes the EX model. Of course, EX isn't exactly slated for performance, so is it even worth it? Only argument would be additionally improved gas mileage? which is why i've mostly been workin on its appearance (tinting/fog lights/ moonroof visor/ splashguards). I actually like the look of the EX better than the SI. I like the grill better, blue console lighting, and lip spoiler vs the gaudy SI spoiler. Don't get me wrong, occasionally i've wished for the SI's 6th gear and extra HP, but that being said, the SI isn't a WRX or hardly a GTI killer, which is why I went with the better looking EX. (that and the $$$ saved)
The problem with the intakes on the Si vs. Ex is they are different designs, as the intake manifolds are on different sides of the engine in each car. The K20 engine in the Si places it on the front side of the engine, whereas the R18 in the Ex places it on the firewall side.
theirs is specific intakes for your model , just do reaserch i have an Ex and i bought an aem cai cai = cold air intake , not short ram series , as for inproved gas milage i havnt paid attention , so i guess you can do it for sound ? you might notice a bit more power
