my ebay "type R" shifter boke with like 2 threads left on the shifter. It was nice. Get a skunk2 or B&M shifter if you dont want it to break. Or stick with OEM, and stop slammin it into gear. Let the transmission accept the gear change.

BTW: You could just go buy a DIE to recut some threads onto that broken shifter you have. I doubt it will break again...

Ouch. Was this an ebay special short shifter? I bought a DC one 4 years ago, haven't had any problems with it but it was ~$100. I might recommend going back to your OEM one, I'm switching back after rebuilding my trans. and noticing how my synchros don't like the short shifter. Just my $.02.

Mine broke a week after install. Right at the bottom of the threads. I just drilled it out (1/4") and jb'd a rollpin into it. No problems since....
