My buddy owns "orange county honda". I can't really say what I paid for it sorry. But they sell all day for 6-7 k. I have a bunch of hopp ups on the way. I just did the pipe, jet kit, hrc. I going to have the head worked on after the season is up-ie cam, springs and such. Then the plus two a-arms and swing ams and schocks. I also own a 06 600rr. But due to that no one wants to insure me it remains at the dealer because I don't want to leave it outside. I do ride it every now and then. it can be sold. any takers. less then 3k on it. lol.

Thats how my honda/yamaha dealer stores all the quads. They have soooo many quads in a little place they are all leaned up against eachother. But i would at least drain the oil if you plan to store it like that for any time.

I used to be big into quads...i had a few in my days (granted im still only 18 now).

A few i had were 87 Tecate 4, 99 400ex, 04 ex with TC 465 stroker, then swapped that motor and built a tc 426, 2 blasters (one a 240), 2 warriors...and some others inbetween.

Funny this thread just showed up becuase i've been looking into getting a quad for dirt/mud. I am looking into a warrior right now becuase I can find them for 2,000, they are a 350, and have reverse. The kind of riding Im doing I would love a 450 of some sort, but I need reverse. Anyone have any problems with a warrior? Seem like solid quads

Its fine that way, there is no fuel in it, I drained it first, Plus if there is and small amount in the tank the switch is set to off. And with it sitting this way there is no load on the suspension. Its all good fellas, thanks for the look out.

Thats what mine is. He found it in the honda wharehouse. There is no diff in the 05-06. And when the 07 comes I'll just swapp the front, lol. I was kind of thinking about selling it. I starting to like the electric start. I almost a old man, lol The 450r electric start might be a cool Ideal

i have ridden a few Raptor 660's and they are ******* beasts. I have quite a bit of time on other utility quads but other than that I have never been that interested in them.

I like the stand up in the dining room though.

Actually, there are 26 differences in the 05 and 06, mostly a whole redesigned motor and some front end differences and a whole new rear linkage and longer swingarm. the 04-05 are the ones on the same. if you had an 06, the 04-05 aftermarket front ends seem to work better then the ones for the 06.

standing it on end is ok for storing it as long as you turn the gas off, if not it will all leak out the carb overflow tubes. also be sure to check the valves, every so often because they will tighten up and will pull the head off the valves, it can also pull the cam bolts out from the head, i saw that personally last weekend.

im a quad guy also, if you couldnt tell, the 450 is a good quad but its takes a lot of maintainance.

far as body wise the 07 will bolt on to the 05. I not worry about the motor, the diff is about 1.5hp on the dyno. For the price I paid its all good. I am going full bore plastics anyways.

I am going to buy the 06 anyways because I do now want a electric start.

dang, that thing is bitchen, I would love to drift that thing. Flat track right. My friends shop has a dyno. When they compared both bikes. There was only 1.5-2.5 hp usable power increase. This was straight out of the box testing. I don't have a dyno nor was I there when this was done. So I can't test for myself. Is that the hrc setup on your bike? I went with the lrd full race setup and air box. I forgot were its jetted at. I had a 400 with the 440 kit ran it with vp 110 and that thing ripped, 03 model. I don't think I should of sold it. Because It had way more top end this this right now. But yea I am going to pick up a 06 electric start next week. So I can do some side by side testing. Waiting for it in red because he is out. Now I got to figure which one am I going to modd the shyt out of.

yea flat track, i also have a MX set up and will sonn have a full sparks motor, new front and rear suspension and all. the black 250r in the pic is a 310 big bore it will pull your arms out of socket.it has the HRC cam and other small things but it has the full HMF exhaust. its ok but i need to go through the head and motor. this is the 1st race 4 srtk i had and i dont like it as much. from what ive seen the 06 will just walk the 04-05 esp with the HRC kit and the wire mod. corked up im sure they are close to the same but i have a friend who qualified for the ATVA pro class race his 06 stock motor wise with just the HRC kit, now it had every other bolt on imaginable.

There is a HUGE differnce between the 05 trx 450r and the 06trx450r.The 06 the motors are almost completely different.Read up about it.My buddy has a 06 and mine was a 05.We both had the HRC kits and he would run off from me bad.
