i have a B&M in mine and i think its perfect. Its not rediculosly short and its not too high either. its heavy so it makes for some nice throws plus having a weighted shift **** helps. the shifts are crisp. it doesnt look or feel cheap. it goes for about 50 bucks and i would HIGHLY recommend shift stabilizer bushings when your doing your short shifter. it makes a world of a difference. I would recommend Energy Suspension.

I've had a C's in my crx for many years now. No bad syncros, no hitting of the exhaust, no nuthin except for much improved shifting. Though I'd be surprised if there was a huge difference between C's and B&M.

It's a feel thing, I run a Hurst on mine, and my T-56'ed car. Great feel, well cast and good angle.

The action is also quite short, and the stick isn't uncomerbly short.

Ive actually got the edelbrock and I can say im pleased with it, I also did the bushing in case your wondering. Its nice and smooth/short and I love how the shifter is kind of bent to the left towards the driver but then again I have nothing to compare to but I did want a s2 dual bend but edelbrock/bm is what they had. I picked the edelbrock and I like it.

Eff short-throw. I love my stock one (although it needs new bushings) but I drove a short-throw and effin' HATED it. I guess you learn to get used to it, but really, I just learned to shift better...

Maybe I'm just one of few who doesn't like to feel like they're making the car do something it isn't read for, yet.

thats not true at all. thats only cuz the driver does not compensate and adapt to the shorter shift with the clutch/footwork.

Usually, the driver doesn't feel as much resistance, and so they push harder thinking it's just a different feel with a new shifter. Usually causes them to grind the **** out of the gears or wind down the synchros from all the driver's I've seen with them.

That, and I hate trying to find gears. Short shifters are like ratchet shifters. Good for drag...otherwise they're just a hassle.

so you say it's the driver that causes the trans to go not the shifter per se

I feel cornered...

What I'm saying is that it takes getting used to, I guess. IMO, it doesn't let you feel the car as much as a regular shifter...and in autocross, an OEM shifter is easier to find, as well as finding the gears. So I guess in an instance, yes, it's the driver, but the shifter doesn't help...

maybe your bushings were bad? i find my gears easier than the stock shifter
