Default What Motor?

I have an 89 Civic DX h/b and I need a new motor to race solo 2 autocross. yeah everyone says LS but I need something offered in civics from the factory. Any suggestions?

hmm, d16z6 its vtec. if your not into that get a d16a6 (ef si). 1.5Ls tuned can give a lot of power as well

i say do a mpfi conversion and maybe add vtec, i would think you would want you car as light as possible, and thus adding a b-series will ad unessaracary weight, keep it light keep it stock...well sorto of...just do the conversion, headwork, and your set i would think...plus get the 90-91 Si tranny...

good advice. gut it and mpfi it. i/h/e. if your looney like me start playing w/ fuel... like run 2348765234 gallons up to it and see what happens

Exactly. Doesn't matter too much if you have a d or a b series (within reason) when you autocross... It's all about the tires and the driver! The fastest CRX at one of the events I went to (one of the fastest overall) had the stock D16A6...
