Default 98 accord dies frequently when driving

98 accord has been dying when driving we have had it to the shop and no codes will show up and will not do at the shop fuel pressure has been checked and is good run vin at dealership to check for recalls none it died on me i got out pulled the spark plug wire off inserted a screwdriver in and cranked car over no fire i shut key off then turned back on cranked again and car fired up so shut off plugged wire back in and would not fire so turned key off and on several times and finally fired and run is this a distributor problem or ignition switch

are you sure. I think your ignition switch was recalled. Check with a different dealership. My 99 ignition switch was recalled.

How many miles are on it? Maybe you should go ahead and replace the distributer, plugs and wires. If it is time. To me it sounds like the ignition switch.

You can also sign up with Honda Owner link and they will tell you if there are recalls for your car.

the dealership told me there was no recall on the ignition switch i am up for trying anything because it is my 19 year old daughters car how much and how hard is it to replace the ignition switch the car has 114,000 new timing belt cap rotor ignition coil belts and water pump

There was a recall on the ignition switch. If your dealer tells you there wasnt then Id say go to a new dealer because that dealer is obviously stupid.

WORD! Both my 98 AND my 99 had the same problem as yuors......dealer fixed it for free....I'd say you are being scammed.

Find a new dealer. Yours might have been fixed but either way your current dealer should have told you this. Unless you have had the car for a while and you know for a fact it was not. It sounds like you have had the car for a while considering what you said is new on it.

I'm on the bandwagon. Those ignition switches were definitely recalled. Just go to a different dealership and tell them that you already called Honda of America and they said it was recalled.
