alright guys, ive been having idleing problems ever since i got my swap in. i know for sure that it has something to do with the throttle body because when i have my ls throttle body on..the car wants to idle at like 3k, once warmed it will drop to 2k. and this past weekend, i tried putting in a d-series tb and it idled right at 800 but the power was so weak at lower rpms. it bogs and runs as if i was running on 3 cylinders. so what do you guys think is going on?
First make sure that the throttle plate is fully closed (disconnect throttle cable). Disconnect the connector for the IACV. Warm it up, then cover both holes inside the TB with your fingers there should not be any vacuum on either and it should almost die or die. If it doesn't most likely have a vacuum leak somewhere. If it does it might be FITV or IACV.

also, after i adjusted the tps, the motor revs and drops continuously. itll rev up to 3k and drop down to 1k.then go back up.then back down.and so on and so forth
i'm having the same exact problem with my b18a1 in my 98 hatch. it'll idle at around 1600-1800 rpms, then fall down to around 800 and back up and down....really annoying, and embarrassing. i tried hooking up a 98 p72 gsr ecu, and it idles great, but weak down low, and the rev limiter kicks in at 4800-5000 rpm's.....which ='s suck-assyness.
i did the iacv trick with converting it from a 3-wire setup to a 2-wire, and did the ckt sensor trick...runs better, but now i have this idling problem.
if anyone can help with this, i, and the good man who started this post, greatly appreciate it. or if anyone can help me with getting the p72 to work good on my swap. no vtec, or knock sensor, but i've heard of ppl using the vtec ecu's on non-vtec motors and doing a lil' harness magic to get them working good.

i beat you, i idle way higher!
and your right, it is embarrasing..i idle anywhere from 2-3k once the car is warmed and when i sit i traffic lights,i hold my right foot on the brake while i let off the clutch a little just so my car would be roughly around 1k. plus im runnin open header so its even worse!
someone please help us!

make sure that you don't have any vacuum leaks on the intake manifold and throttle body. Try spraying some carb cleaner around the area to find out where the leak is. Also the d-series throttle body is 2mm smaller than the ls, so that could be the cause of your power loss. The tps voltage on the ls throttle body will not adjust right, what could be the cause of this??

actually nitsan..it does adjust..got the ls throttle body to .45..but when i started it...my rpms just jumped back and forth from 1k to 3k
hey guys , i have a similar problems too but my is a stock 98 accord. i remove the air intake tube and spray some throttle body cleaner and after that, my engine throws a check engine light and the code was : idle control system malfunction. so does this mean it's the IACV? all i did was spray the cleaner. now the engine idles up and down. i try disconnecting and reconnecting the iacv plug and it did not help. i also did the test where i unplug the iacv with the engine running and plugging the iacv hole in the throttle body and both time, the engine wants to die but it comes right back up to nornal idle, so when you do this test, is the engine suppose to die and the idle remain low until i plug the iacv back or unplug the iacv hole?
thanks
thanks
