check you transmission fluid level.

more than likely it's just low causing 5th to pop out since it sits the highest in the case.

make sure that when you check or fill your tranny, always make sure the car is level. If on jackstands, it needs to be on 4 jackstands. If you check or fill it with only the front end raised, you will end up with low fluid level.

sorry, just cruising through here today, did not read the other posts, sounds like bad syncronizer or linkage bushing gone bad. DO NOT drive with your hand resting on the gear shifter, this wears out the syncro.

You know what oil smells like right? If not, grab a bottle of it and take a whiff. Now go out on the driveway, stick your finger in the puddle and smell your finger.

If it's tranny fluid, it will smell nothing like motor oil. Gear oil has a distinct odor like nothing else. It looks pretty similar to motor oil, though, so I don't think you can really tell by looking at it.

Maybe you should get underneath the car and have a look? You should be able to see where it's leaking from, just look for grimy fluid residue that looks like it's about to drip off.

If it is tranny fluid, then the most likely culprit is the axle seals in the differential housing are leaking. Those should have had new ones put in before installing the axles.

Tranny oil is usually red in color. So just check out the bottom of your car for leaks.

ATF is red in color. Honda MTF and GM Synchromesh look more like fresh motor oil, even after they've been used 25K miles (in my experience).

Some where on the Highway in top speed and made sum sharp turn under bridge to get back on highway. Suddenly my car stop moving but my rpm hand goes up. I stop n try go, would not move but hear tha tranny grinding. Found out the axle pop out also no snap ring on it. But see no fluid underneat the car. I got an b16a tranny on an ls motor...

holy crap I can barely understand what you're typing.... no fluid under the car, it was proabably all on the ground some ways back when the axle came out, but before the car stopped moving.

And what is this business about making sharp turns while at top speed?
