Springs and Shocks?
I'm planning on buying s-tech springs for my 06 civic. Is it crucial that I buy shocks for my car too? I don't race my car it would be for mostly looks. I just don't want to lower my car and then all of a sudden 1 month later find out my stock shocks were blown. Would the ones on my 06 civic coupe be good enough?
i have eibach springs. i think its 1 inch in the front and 1.2 inches in the back. ive never had any problem and i can tell you that the car doesnt "bounce" while driving.
did ours and kept them stock, no problems.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Tallwin »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Based on what my mechanic told me, if you are installing springs that are lower than the stock springs, you "should" replace the shocks as well. In doing so you remove any fit problems and reduce the chance of noices.
Just another $.02 </TD></TR></TABLE>
they want more money from you!!!!

that depends on what kind of lowering you want/have...
i had vogtland lowering springs (-55mm) and yellow konis...the thing kept bottoming despite the higher spring rates and the adjustability on the konis...it was just too much drop...in that cases you should get paired lowering springs and shorter or firmer shocks...

i also have eibach pro kit lowering springs , 1'' drop 1.2 on rear thats factory the wy it is , no other suspension shosck strunts combo none just a spring change and i got it over 1 month and i drive crazy on it and no shock damtges.... also you can also fit 225/40/18zr series i think that paticular set looks sick cuz it doesnt look skiny pale but stil has that low profile , just a bit wider and yes it makes the overall tire bigger
