Default Crazy radar detector rattle

Not sure exactly if this is the correct forum to post in, but anyways. I have a Escort Passport X50 radar detector mounted on my windshield w/ the suction cup mount. I also have 2 12" Infinity subs. When the music is turned up anywhere when there is significant bass, the radar detector rattles like crazy. I've never heard of such a problem before but turning it up more makes it less noticable, but it's still annoying. The detector is as back as far as it can go on the bracket and everything, it's just rattling off the windshield and I have no idea what i could do to it to make it stop. Anyone else have this problem or any ideas?

Much appreciated.

Putting it down that low would really decrease the range I believe, and come on turning down the bass is just no fun. And it would have to be nearly mute (which makes the woofers unneeded) as this rattle comes at nearly any volume level. Is it just my car (Prelude) or do other people deal with this problem too? I mean who else has a radar detector thats mounted on the windshield. I would think this issue would be pretty widespread. It's just so annoying and now I plan on dynamatting my car, this thing will keep vibrating like crazy now that the trunk is silent.

Buy the visor bracket and put it up there, then hard wire it... That way, you won't have the unit stuck to the middle of your windshield and you won't have the ugly cord hanging down the dashboard...

Here's kinda the same issue w/ the velcro on the dash, now that its up by the dark tint strip up on the windshield the range is really reduced due to the lack of visibility through that tint. Any suggestions?

I have no problems with range with mine mounted on the visor... Been in my Accord that way for over a year, and in my Civic before that for 3...

I have mine Velcroed to my dash, right above the instrument cluster, in my teg, but then I do not have 2 12" subs.

I have run into the problem more then a few times though, [customers car] we normally just make a custom bracket and mount the bracket under windshield trim or the mirror mount.

Window tint, with metallic particles in it will reduce range of a radar detectors and alarm ant.

It's easy to test, find an automatic door that triggers the detector, park as far from it as you can and have it still trigger the detector, then move detector up behind the tint, if you have to move a lot closer before it triggers, you have a "metallic" tint, mount unit below tint. 94
