Rota GT3 + 215/40 16s Will it work?
Ok guys, I have a 93 del Sol and was wondering if I can fit 215mm tires under the car with out having any problems rubbing the frame? (not the fender, the inside of the wheel well when the steering is turned to the extreme left or right)
I have checked all of the clearances as far as fitment of the rims and the diameter of the tires. But, I don't know about the offsets and what work with out rubbing.
Current rims: stock alloys 14 by 5.5 with 185/60 14s offset 45
Future Rims: Rota GT3 16 by 7 with 215/40 16s offset 40

well you are getting something that is 30 mm wider. Your rims will kick out the centre of that tire 5mm more to the outside. So you are gaining an extra 10mm on the inside and and extra 20mm on the outside. If I had to guess (which is what I am doing) you should be fine on the inside, the fender is where you will see rubbing but you don't seem worried about that for some reason.
Hope this helps, with rubbing questions it's always hard to have a straight answer.
