Default weird gas gauge

Ok it's been a couple days since I filled up. Yesterday the needle was still on full. This morning when I get into my car to drive to work it was at lower than 3/4, so I'm thinking what the hell. Then about halfway to work(about 10 minutes later) it's reading full again. Has anything similar happened to anyone on here before? My only guess is it happened because it was cold out this morning, but I didn't think it would show almost half a tank less.

The general concensus is that the 01-05 civic gas gauges are not very accurate. I dont normally see that much fluctuation when full. However once I get closer to empty the needle will jump around to different positions every time i get in the car. So dont worry too much about it, its normal for our cars.

weird, ive had no problems with any of my civic's guages. There has been a slight "problem" if you can call it that from 1988-now with civic's bottem half of the gas guage being about 1/3 the size of the top.

I get about 130 KM's once im full before the needle even moves, its a full 400km's befor ei hit halfway, then after halfway i get about 200km's.

Yeah, I'm used to a little back and forth, but this was almost a half tank. But when I left for lunch it was still at full. It must have been because it was cold. I guess I'll see for sure when winter gets here.

Mine will read pegged at Full for almost half a tank and then read normally the whole way down with only a little variation.
