Question about wing removal
Hey for all who tried to take off your R spoiler. I was curious on how my R would look without a spoiler, so I decided to try taking it off and see how it looks. I found 3 screws on each side under the trunk, 2 of them were together and 1 was a lil far away from the other 2 , and it got a hard plastic piece attach to it. I took all 6 bolts out (3 on each side) but the spoiler wouldn't budge, and i wasn't trying to pull it out with force. Did i miss something?
Please don't comment something like this " Why you tryna take ur wing off blah blah blah you stupid is suppose to stay on"...im just trying to find out how to remove it, nothing more.

IIRC the OEM R wing only has 2 10mm bolts on each side of the wing holding it down. They are black capped bolts with plastic washers.
There is definitely some super strong sticky double sided body tape between the wing and the hatch that I used dental floss to seperate with. All told it took about half an hour to remove the wing and probably another 45 minutes removing all the double sided tape and sticky residue. I used Afta which is a strong adhesive remover for what else, the adhesive. Then washed it and applied polish and wax.
To each his own for looks.
I had mine off for about a year but I also removed all the badging and ran steel wheels with plastic wheel covers to make it a bit more stealthy at the height of the R thieving craze when it was my daily driver. But that won't work too well on a CW or PY. Since mine is black it didn't raise too much attention when it was stripped like that.
But as soon as I started participating in HPDE's the wing went back on and I have no reason or desire to take it off again.
Best of luck.
