could you please share where you found these reports of jackstands collapsing?
I have 4 of those stands from AutoZone, I think the brand is called Larin or something? I've been using them for many years, and they work well and are pretty stable. They usually run about $15/pair I think. You don't have to spend wads of cash to get good jackstands that will do the job just fine.
When you put a car like a Civic or Integra on 4 jackstands, there's never more than 1000 lbs on any one stand at any one time, and usually no more than 600-700 lbs. on any one stand once you get all 4 of them under there. I seriously doubt 700 lbs. would cause any commercially available jackstand to collapse, unless you were just an idiot and didn't watch where and how you placed them on the ground. In that case, user error.

Pretty much any jackstands will work just fine. If someone had one that collapsed on him, it was either overloaded or damaged/defective in some way, shape or form. If you're still desperate for a name brand, look for Lincoln or Snap-On, but you'll pay considerably more for the name.

well wtf, dude never did post the pics of the stands. Alot of good that does for the rest of us.
My stands are the ratchet type. I suppose the locking pin type would be better, but I've never had problems with mine.

An African bushman can make a jackstand. There's not much to them. Even if they did collaps, you had your wheels under your car just in case, right?
