Default Tech related pic request: need engine bay pic 99-00 Civic

I now have a b16 from a '00 Civic SI in my '00 DX Hatch.

I am wanting to put the stock SI airbox into my car but of course my engine bay does not have the correct hole cut for the lower part of the air box assembly. So I want to cut this hole but I need it to be cut correctly the first time.

Could anyone please show me some pics of their EX or SI engine bay so that I can see what this hole should look like.

And a pic to help describe. (this is not my bay I just google image searched for this)

Why exactly do you need it? Just to get an idea of how you should cut it?

If that's so, its just a hole thats about 3.5" in diameter. Nothing special.

lol gsr.. anyway y not take off your intake. then put the stock box on piece by piece.. see where the lower part of the box (prefilter) is sitting on the little ledge behind the headlight. get a marker.. get a recip saw and have some fun... try to fit it.. doesnt fit adjust hole a little more etc etc.. since you swapped a motor.. the hole may not even line up with the hole on a picture someone could show you.. in that case you would just have a hole that the airbox wouldnt fit into anyway haha..

but yea.. just do it by eye.. be patient start with a small hole and work your way till it fits.. try not to saw through your ac and radiator lines.. if you still have em

Yeah I think I would do a combination of those two.

I would like a picture as a reference, not so much as a blueprint.
I would be as w0ng_sta said, cutting and checking, cutting and checking.

I just looking for a pic as a reference.

Why do you need that hole if you're using a stock airbox? If you want that hole, like someone said earlier, use a 3.5" hole saw.

And if I remember correct, when I owned a CX EK, there was an indentation where the hole was suppose to be. Just go with that.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by White Lotus &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Why do you need that hole if you're using a stock airbox? If you want that hole, like someone said earlier, use a 3.5" hole saw.</TD></TR></TABLE>

The stock SI airbox goes through that hole and then back up around the frame rail.
