Fluctuating fuel pressure.
My fuel pressure does not stay at 40psi anymore. my FPR gauge keeps going up and down. I changed out my b&m fpr with a stock fpr, replaced my fuel filter and still does the same thing. It cant be my gauge because my idle also fluctuates. My fuel system consists of: AEM fuel rail, rc 310cc injectors, walboro 255lph fuel pump, B&M FPR w/ gauge. anybody had this problem before? what else could be the problem? thanks
How often does it change? I just put a Walboro 255 pump and AEM regulator on my car, and the needle on my B&M gauge vibrates about 4 psi or so up and down while it's running. Is this what you mean, or do you mean your regulator adjustment eventually changes over a period of time?
It could be a few things. First off when you replaced the fuel rail did you reinstall the fuel pulsation damper that was on the stock rail and if you did, did you use a new crush washer or over tighten? Did you over tighten or pinch the hard line that goes to the fuel filter? Is there any fuel leaks? Is it manual or A/T? If auto tranny it could be the fast idle thermo valve gone bad. Also with fluctuating idle it could be your idle air control valve. Clogged fuel injector, bad injector clip, o rings ( hence any fuel leaks), bad ground to fuel system. What type of 310's did you use? Different injectors (Lucas, pintle, saturated, peak hold bla bla bla etc.) can cause issues with Honda's. What type of fuel management are you using and is it tuned accordingly? I forgot if you mentioned what type of FPR you have. If it's AEM I know on some of their original units when they initially came out there was some issues with the flange o ring thingy (sorry i forgot what it's called I know you can get replacements for them thru AEM) internally that would cuase leaks or clogs that can make idle fluctuate. Do you have stock fuel lines or stainless with AN fittings. If stainless with AN fittings then if you or someone put the lines together did you make sure there was no debris in lines (from cutting) before installing? If not you run the risk of little pieces of the steel braid flowing thru the line clogging fuel system. There could be more but I can't think right now. Lack of sleep and pain meds. I've rambled too much I hope it helped somewhat.
