Is this possible?
I tried breaking loose the axle nut today in my constant attempt to take out my engine. Unfortunately, there are a lot of dumbf***s out there and I was lucky enough to get one of their cars. The nut has been all bent up and won't budge. So I figured I'll just attempt to take out the engine while leaving the tranny in place. It looks a little tight so now I'm wondering if it can even be done. Anyone have any words of advice? Thanks.

I don't think so. the spline from the tranny is longer that the space between the pulley and the wheel well on the driver side. That's off the top of my head.
Then it would be a pain to align the clutch and the spline when you get it back in.

just seperate the lower ball joints and pop the axles out of the tranny, lift the engine and tranny out once you disconnect everything while leaving the axles in place. HTH
