Default H22 Track Time! Disappointed =( After Rebuild!!

Ok, bare with me. I originally had my jdm h22 swap from password jdm, I dropped the motor in as is and added a skunk2 manifold. Stock clutch, and stock flywheel. Took this setup to Irwindale which is an 1/8th mile track. The best time I ran was a 10 Flat! After a few times of taking this to the track I eventually blew my motor!

Part 2

I now did a complete rebuild on my h22, rebuilt the head and the block, got a brand new stage 3 clutch, and got a lighten flywheel! No Skunk2 Manifold It Cracked! Broke in the clutch and I now have 1700 hundred miles on the motor. Took it the the track tonight and the best time I ran was a "10.87", I was so disappointed, I was thinking at least in the high 9's! Cant Figure out what is wrong and I really need to make my motor alot better then a High 10!

My Friend told me that he thinks it might be my distributor! Any possiblities?

something is diff. wrong. this is in a EK hatch too? i ran in the high 9's when i had a stock h22 in my 5th gen prelude lol (i/e/h/test pipe/skunk2 manifold/nice street tires/driver skills)

what tires are you running? what ecu are you running? might just be a lack of driver skills.

ok sorry, I did a stock rebuild on the whole h22. Didnt really expect to be faster but at least in the same time range right? Its not on driving skills I know how to drive my car! The swap is in my civic coupe!

The car somtimes backfires when I let off the gas in gear!

1. It may not be the MOTOR. (IT MAY JUST BE YOUR "GRANNY SHIFTING"

2. Lauching the car is very essential.
3. Tires? Could be a factor.
4. "its not how you stand next to your car, Its how you race your car"
5. Run 1/4 miles. 1/8 is just to short. Palmdale (LACR.COM) Me and a buddy ran all day and all night..$20 for BOTH! wow! it's like 1 hour drive from Downtown. Los angeles. But it's pretty fun...We raced on the way there...

6. If it ran slower, then your Torque/Hp ratio config may be bad on the low end.

GET: MSD BLASTER SS (EXTERNAL COIL) X10 BETTER ($50).

10 in the 1/8 will put you at about 15-16 in hte 1/4. which is about right for a stock rebuilt motor. did you replce the JDM pistons with USDM? you would get a nice little power loss from that. dont those civic weigh in at under 2000? you should be running a 14 with an H swap, if it was rebuilt right. and removing the butterflies wont really matter at the track, you are always gonna be above the RPM that they kick in at. sorry man.

john_d is a fagat by the way!! burn in hell john_d

you should never be running that slow in an h22 hatch

none of you ****** have considered the fact that he has a "chipped" p28....i can almost garauntee that the thing isn't tuned right

this is a load of crap, 50x better than what? better in what way??
aftermarket ignitions are completely unnecessary for h22s making this kinda hp....

chipping owns j00

but even still, if its not making audible detonation...LOL...you should be running faster than 10's. Low 9's SHOULD be attainable.

who did this rebuild? Why did you rebuild it? What is a stage 3 clutch?

i agree. i think you need to get your **** tuned to your engine. you will see a major difference. i bought an ebay "chipped" p28 and i was missing a diode and the little thing that makes my vtec kick in. i had a guy fix it. he soldered everything in and then stuck my car on the dyno and tuned it in. my car runs great now.
