Default d16a6...need help!!!!!!!!!

ok here's the thing... i'm wanting to build a n/a d16,and the thing is i really don't know where to start. My goal is to shut down a b18 turbo my friend has in a 92 hatch.I don't want to turbo and i'm not interested in doing a swap, .My car is a 91 hatch with 130,000 miles and i want to keep it reliable. And emissions are not a concern. Is it impossable? Thanks guys for your help!

cha-ching. I love A6's so i want to see it. I wish you the best of luck and wish I had the wealth you do to build an N/A A6 that beats turbo b18's.

SAVE THE SOHC!!!!

To beat a b18 turbo in a 92 hatch you will need to turbo your a6. The a6 is a nice engine and built/tunes properly will give you very good results.

exospeed knows his D builds and esp the a6

I don't know why you are trying to beat a twin cam boosted motor with a smaller single slammer but depending on his setup it's doable.

good luck

I would say carb her monster comp and race gas

oh wait thats what I say no matter what

maybe beating him is out of the question but i want to pull all the potential out of the d16 that it has. Its a" told ya so" kinda think...know what i mean? He just has no faith in a d16.

Could u imagine a 200 hp. all motor A6? Man, it would pay for itself at the street races...

You'd have to go to different areas though, lol. Word would spread quick!

Honestly off an a6 it would be so peaky and rowdey probbly wouldn't be the best more of a dyno queen *cough mkivsupras cough*

If you were willing to spend a ton on gearing etc i'm sure it would be a rocket and on race gas you could have it alot more tame then street honestly.

Really that's all, I was asuming higher..

Might be almost streetable.

As far as pleanetness or longivty thats another story.

When all motor cars get that nasty they have a short powerband even though its nasty.

No nice way to put that just search.

If you are new but know how to turn a wrench I made a bitching lsvtec for about that.

Spend some time searching then if your stuck post up a new question but honestly no reason to ask that.

I'd not rock a t3/t4 on a stock gut setup.

I'd say safe 7=8 psi on stock guts for an a6.

build the motor to hold few more psi then some t3/t4s would be good if you will deal with some lag.

Stock A6 rods get iffy after 200 hp. I'm gonna be close to that with my spray setup and wouldn't dream of going over.

Pistons will be toast if you have shitty fuel management and go rich.

stick in some shotpeened and polished ls rods machined to fit. You have to shave 1mm off or somthing somewhere but it is doable and your rods will be beefy as hell use arp bolts as well.
