$3000 Beaters?
So, what are some quickish/cheap moddable $3000 cars you guys have thought of as beaters? I'm posting in here because a lot of you ITR guys have cars you drive everyday other than the R so it doesn't disappear on you.
Open to anything...import, domestic, whatever, just looking for ideas for cheap cars OTHER than Civics and CRXs.

Bahaha... I forgot all about the poor Cressida, sold that long ago. Definitely needed some shocks and a rear swaybar and a Supra Turbo... and a 5 speed.
Three grand?!? Hell, that will buy you a nice car
I second the Fox-body Mustang - huge potential
State surplus Crown Vic would be my choice for domestic though.
Pat, who only paid $500 for his beater

Hands down, Rx-7 TurboII.The parts are abundant and really cheap. They can be made really quick for cheap and if you get all the series 5 trim pieces,or a series 5(89-91)they look pretty good too.
Mazda Miata... but Seattle waether sux, so that won't fly.
other cars that are "cheap" but hard to find:
AE86, VR-4, 323 GTX, GT-Four
domestic "fast" cars:
late 80's Mustang LX 5.0, any Camaro
