Default RACE HEADER vs. STREET Header

race header vs. Street header . I have been trying to decide which is a better and more realistic choice. I know that ill get more power with the race header but isnt it a hassle to have to be taking it off and putting it back on everytime you want to take your car in for some warranty work or to get a smog test?!? Is a street header really shitty combined with a exhaust (Ccomptech)? I know its not as good as a race header but will it still give me some good numbers at the track?

Biggest difference between them, obviously, is whether or not there's a cat involved.

You could greatly reduce the hassle by installing a test pipe instead.

so since the cat is eliminated in a race header, wouldnt you have to take the race header off and put your stock one back on when u have to do emissions crap or if u want to take it in for a repair at the dealer?? or is there some other solution?

actually it depends on how they do the test in NJ they dont do a sniffer test on OBDII cars they only look for the ECU to throw a code from the OBDII port

If there's no visual inspection, and they only plug into the ODBII to check for error codes, AND you've set it up so that the ECU reads clean, then you'll be fine.

Either way, keep that OEM catalytic convertor. Unless you get lucky enough to find one used, they're goddamn expensive to replace.
