Default mini me swap question

oppinion question with some one that has done this before. is it easier to just drop say a d15b motor in or is it easier to take the head off and intake mani and install it on my d16 motor??

one more question (i know this has to do with tranny's and should prob be in the tranny section) will a d15b tranny be alot more noticable than my long *** y7 tranny?? thanks for any help

stop being cheap and save up for a real swap...b16/b18
with all the money you would spend on building a d16/15 you might as well upgrade...

dood im saving up for a t-bo kit and i figure id rather have one of the best d's before i just go and get a turbo kit. ive also thought deeply into a turbo kit and swapping to a b-series and a t-bo kit will walk all over that decision. its just all motor cars tend to be more reliable. but u also didnt answer my question

well, it depends on how good you are under the hood. if you never removed a head or dealt with the timing belt, then i suggest you do a swap. actually, swapping the motor would probably be the easier route.

i was thinking the same thing. plus i would have extra parts left over incase i say blew my newer better engine. and yeah i am a newb when it comes to hard time experience. and wouldnt be so sure on how to do it yet but i calculated it being the bestbang for the buck. right next to boosting my car which will eventually come. not knowing when of course. but i do have the money to do this cause its cheap. thanks for the advice. if there are anymore oppinions out there i would be delighted to hear them.

they are both just as easy. swapping the whole motor is prob a little more time consuming.

just dont switch to a b series. its a waste of a good car. unless you have an extra $2g to waste or you want to "fit in" with the bling bling's who dont know how to build a race motor and think they need displacement and an extra cam to go fast.

yeah i know that. i see this way my goals for a turbo would prob be 200hp which is give or take about 100more hp than i already have and would spend about 2g's give or take some so about $20hp for doing say a b16a1 around 60-70more hp for the same price. but if i do a mini me swap and intake manifold and y8 tranny for about 200-400$ and gain 30hp or so thats $16.66 per hp which is good bang for the buck deal. i think im going to go with the head/im/tranny swap first and then see how that is and then save up for a turbo kit.
