whoa slow down on the caps buddy. you wanna know why it is slower?...its a base automatic. wanna know why it dosent feel like it has vtec?...cuz it basically dosent it switchs on at 2200 rpms and stays the same until redline. i have an intake and exhaust and it has helped it a bit but no where near worth it. save your money and boost or swap it.

VTec doesn't make your car much faster so it shouldn't matter, it's an automatic so you can't choose when the gears shifts, and any bolt on item will help dut don't plan on it being a huge amount....please turn off CAPS LOCK

the greddy turbo kit is $2500 from http://www.wotm.com but u'll also want to get an intercooler. you can get a whole kit from ebay for proly $300. learn more before you do this. check out the turbo section of http://www.clubrsx.com

The reason its not as fast as say a type-S is that the Type-S has a manual and another gear. Also, it has a good 40hp more than the base. Your VTEC system is sort of the weak one, where at low RPMs the engine functions as a 12 valve engine, not a 16, it swirls the incoming air. This makes it more effecient at low RPMs. However, the type-S always has all 16 valves working, and when its VTEC engages, the valves open up a LOT more than on your motor, and it revs more and makes more power. This with better gearing makes it quick. you also have automatic lag, but it does shift quicker than a manual, and this should make up for something. Your car isnt THAT slow.

An intake and exhaust will up your power, but a Type-S head will give you more than that. The biggest noticable thing a intake and exhaust will do for you is make your VTEC engagement more audiable and make the motor louder when you floor it. You will also get more power, but if your calling your car slow now, i dont know how much faster it will feel for you.

How does it not make it much faster? Thats where the power ban is.

Its power BAND. Don't think of VTEC as an object that just boosts power, its not like some bolt on. Think of VTEC as a system that gives your car two cam shafts on the same set of rockers. The low profile camshaft is for most of the driving at low revs, but when you rev the engine high enough, VTEC "engages" and your motor sort of switches to another cam shaft profile, which openes your valves farther and sometimes for longer. So how much "power" VTEC "adds" depends on how much more agressive the VTEC cam profile is. You can give the car more power on that VTEC cam lobe with aftermarket Cams that allow the engine to open the valves even more and rev higher, but you may want to upgrade the valve springs and possibly the connecting rods so that they can handle the added stress that Honda did not design for.

Is this clear enough?
