Default HID Retrofit with ebay HID kit...

I bought a set of BMW E46 HID projectors. Now all I need are D2S bulbs and ballasts. I found an ebay kit for $140 shipped from Hong Kong that provides ballasts, D2S bulbs, and the color temperature that I want.

Here's the link...

Has anyone have any experience with these? Does anyone know if their D2S bulbs will fit into my projectors and how the connectors are like? What's the reliability of these kits? Thanks.

I'd be a little wary. Cheap HID components can end up causing you a lot of headaches. Higher-quality items can be found for reasonable prices, and you'll likely be much more satisfied with the results and the longevity of your project.

I understand. If I go that route I would have to purchase a pair of ballasts for about $200 and a pair of 6000k D2S bulbs for another $100. Twice as much as the Hong Kong kit.

what Padawan is saying is that yes, it is twice as much... but who knows, maybe in 3 months you'll blow up a ballast. now you have to buy another ballast, which you'll probably never find a match of, so you'll have to buy another 'hong kong' kit.

Which would be twice as much anyways. Gotcha.

I got my HIDs' out of a 04 IS300 and used casper shields to pjut them in my headlights. Between them and my factory fogs I can see quite well. I wouldn't buy cheapo Ebay hid kit.

Hella/Philips Generation-3 Package (bottom of the page), it's all oe equipment thus the cost.

Another option would be THIS "kit", it's oe ballasts n bulbs out of an Infinity G35.

I've used genuine Hella Gen 3's (which are what the seller is selling copies of in your link) and I've got a conversion h3 kit and I can say for sure that the Hella's are LEAPS n bounds better than the conversion kits ballasts. The conversion kit's ballasts are super sensitive to good connections (just doing a battery terminal test I kept having it light up and then shut off, were as my gen 3's come on strong with out any fuss) as well as thier reliabilty is question able were as the gen 3's last for damn near ever (less they get water in them..... but proper planning and placment as well as a plastic bag will keep this from happening).
