Default What will last longer?

Running nitrous at 75shot

or

Running 8psi of boost

All on a 150k h23?

What I mean is what is safer and give me a longer life on my motor?

I am going to get a leak and compression test soon as well as a motor diagnostic test to see how long my engine will last me, if all goes as according to plan, i'll do a minor engine rebuild then I will run boost but if it does not then i'm going to skip out on the boost and nitrous then go get a h22 swap then boost it in a year or two.

I have a few thousand to spare (not by me, but my dad). I have the decision on getting a new paint job and rims or spending that money on something else. I dont care how my car looks.. Im all into my performance before looks. I am NOT going to do a H22 unless my H23 is near dead.

*edit* disregard this post
skip down.

lol dude.....you really need to think about this statement, what is safer?? jumping off a cliff or diving in a shark tank

you dont want to do anything out of the ordinary on a 150,000 mile motor....

rebuild it first...
then ask yourself what you rebuilt it for...

Your right,

But I can't get over the fact of getting rid of my h23 while it still running, theres so many opinions I get from people and I just can't get a solid decision.. Half of the people say h23's are a money hole and won't get me anywhere where I can get a h22 and spend half of the money that I put into a h23 and get way more performance. Maybe I should realize that I should get a h22 swap.

sorry about the vtech (haha spelling error)

first you probably oughta do some research....one of the first things you might figure out is that h22s have vtec, not vtech

youre much better off buying an h22 from hmotorsonline.com and swapping that in than building a time bomb h23

companies like hmotorsonline will give a guarantee on their engines to be in good running shape, junkyards most likely won't. If you're gonna pick up another engine I'd go with a reputable site like hmotors or passwordjdm

Yeah it sounds like its time for me to hit the books for a little bit longer but I think I am gonna get that h22 vtec[sp ] swap for christmas.

I'm gonna email my local swap shop down here and find out some estimates.

Their ain't nothin wrong with runnin her 'till she blows. 75 shot will last most likely twice as long as 8psi. If that is two weeks, or two years, nobody knows. Until you do it.

Considering decent tuning and fuel systems are used on both setups.

If your gettin a H22 swap for X-mas, 100 shot FTW.

why not take that couple of thousand and build your bottom end. sleeve your block, put forged pistons and rods in, and balance everything. then you have aq great starting point, a bullet proof block. then you can run n20 till u get the money for a turbo or just run na till u get the money up. then move on to the head, you can rebuild ur h23 one and make decent power, or build a h22 head and have a h23 vtec when all is said and done...

If you dont want to get rid of your engine because its running, i suggest this:

1. Decide wether you want to go turbo or nitrous. In your H23 or H22.
2. Put turbo or nitrous on current motor.
3. Run it till you throw a piston through your block....HEY NEW ENGINE TIME!
4. Purchase a JDM H22.
5. Since most of the parts from your turbo or nitrous set up on your H23 will be able to trasfer over to your H22, you do that.
6. Once you blow the H22. Then you rebuild it.
7. Now with your new and improved more powerfull engine. Increase the boost or nitrous to rediculous levels.
8. Enjoy #7.
9. Put rod through block.
10. Repeat steps 4-9.
