Default How do I test this HID wire harness w/ this Multimeter? *Pics*

This is the first time I have used a multimeter. Basically, I am trying to wire the TSX retrofit into my Accord. The problem is no lights come on when the wire harness is installed to the OEM harnesses.

Here is the harness:

Ground is grounded -- Power is connected to the battery -- 1 & 2 connected to OEM harness -- 1a & 2a connect to HID ballast

I have checked the 2 fuses in the pink box and they are good. I would like to check the harness for current when installed.

How is this done using a multimeter?

I have this cheap multimeter:

Thanks for any help!!

Edited because I'm a retard and didn't read that he was trying to measure current..

Leaving this though:

I'm sure that thing came with a manual... You could have opened it to get the same info and have been done by now.

To measure First make sure the device you are trying to measure does not pull more current then the meter can handle.

You will see a max current measurement on the DVM DO NOT EXCEED it.

Flip the switch to DCA I would start with the highest setting. The black wire goes in COM
The red wire goes in the top hole from what I can tell from your picture. Now insert the meter in series with the power wire.

Black wire to + of battery Red wire to red positive wire of HID.

The meter will now display the current. Good luck.

Is this with the battery terminals connected of negative disconnected?
I want to check harnesses 1, 2, 1a, 2a.

In each of the harness there are 2 connections. Is it ok to touch both or am I only suppose to check one (power)? I believe I can check both (one will not do anything) but want to make sure before I screw something up on my new car. First time using a multimeter, so thanks for the help

Alright... WTF are you trying to test? When you say that you want to test for current, do you mean that you are trying to test the current draw of the lights?? Or are you just trying to verify that there's voltage when you turn the lights on?

I want to test the harnesses to see where the problem is. Basically will install the harness and test the 6 plugs to see if they are getting any power.
