FWD motor swap, non honda...
Likethe title says, I am swapping in a motor....I know everything has to be lined up and all of that. I am trying to make it even on both sides for the axles to line up up down and all around. I have measuring tools, broomsticks in the hubs going to the differential and for now being eyeballed.
No brainer, But since this is my first time I am trying to line up the motor,
I'm here asking if you have any tips that are worthwhile in the process.

String. Tie a piece of string from one fender to the other. helps get everything line up with the cars lines. levels are useless.
Make sure the car is at its ride height when lining up axles. See if you can come up with a way to get the car in the air with full weight on all 4 wheels.
WOOD! use wood for shims etc to tweak the motor in the engine bay.
Sounds like you're making custom mounts? Use cardboard for rough templates.

It doesn't have to be perfect. The idea is to get the motor level the same way it was in the vehicle it came out of.
Then the other part is getting the axles to fit. CVs have a certain amount of play in them. Try to get it within a good angle to the hub and right to left as well.
Take your time. Cardboard is must. Even wood works.
