Default going to do mpfi swap.... 5 spd also?

like the title asks i need to know if a 5 speed is necessary or is it just choice?

I used to have a 4spd, and swapped to the 5spd. I didn't notice much difference, but I was on DPFI the whole time. I do prefer to have another gear there in the middle. I'd reccommend doing it if you can find a decently priced tranny.

you dotn have to but you have to use an automatic ecu if you keep it. but auto sucks

auto ecu? no its already manual but just switching from 4 speed to 5 speed. to all who put input thanks and any other input will be appreciated...... can i also addd b20 sucks *** everyone flames post nobody ever helps.lol

oh i thought you had an auto not a 4 speed. never drivin a 4 speed so i cant help

yes and yes, the 5 speed trannies have larger diameter axles.

It's not just preference. A 5spd from a DX will give you better acceleration than a 4spd, and a 5spd from an Si will give you better acceleration than a DX tranny.

It all depends on your budget. If you can afford it, go with an Si tranny.
