I have heard that people just remove the rear bumper support. I was just wondering if it would be worth it to use a 88' hf rear support. How much weight would you save? it should fit fine?
hell ya man hf or just cut yours all up so there is just the bare minimum of material left you could probably save up to 10-15 pounds on just the back bracket alone
yeah, the HF rear bumper support is only 5 lbs. the Si/DX is a good 25lbs. so it is a good 20lbs DIFFERENCE.
the major difference is all the reinforcement in the middle. its otherwise the same, and just sheet metal which makes it so light.

My HF support was all bent up in an accident... So I took it off and fabricated on out of small aluminium I beams... sorry... no pics.
Worthless if I get rear ended, but it holds the bumper cover in place
