Default PLay in the shift fork ----VVVV

Sup FEllas

Well, my clutch has been acting funny a little lately,
not engaging properly.

I found out the spring on the shift fork became disconnected
from the little ball in the clutch housing that it pivots on.

My question is, is there anyway to snap the spring back in place
or fix it w/o seperating the motor from the tranny?

Probably not, but just curious

Question for those of you that have done clutch jobs
on Preludes, do you prefer to just drop the tranny or
do you prefer to pull the whole motor and work on it
outside of the car?

if you take the front subframe out its really easy to get the tranny out. if not, be prepared to go inch by inch

me and a friend put my h22 tranny on in 6-7 hours. not that fast, but its pretty easy. only hard part for us was putting the tranny back on.

dont forget to get a front end alignment when your done. you'll have to take the torsion bar out. Your tow will be all messed up.

WTF?, there's no torsion bar on any generation of Prelude and Preludes are not usually used as tow vehicles...especially in the front. Smoke less crack

And on topic, I agree on drop the subframe and then drop only the tranny. Doing it with the subframe gives you like 1/2" of clearance total.

the first time i did mine on a lift i did it without pulling the subframe out... but if you're doing it on the ground its a whole nother story. when i did it on the ground the second time it was hard enough to get it in with the subframe out, i doubt i could have done it with the subframe in.

course, i dont have a tranny jack either so

damn guys you dont need to pull the tranny to get that arm out. i forget that thing almost every time I bolt the tranny back on and it just snaps right in there. all you gotta do is take off the slave, pull the rubber boot back and pull it out. sometimes you gotta get your fingers in there and snap that spring off the ball but it shouldnt be that big of a deal.

when you put it back in there just make sure you get the tabs on the bearing lined up with the fork.

Partially on topic here. What's the fastest any body has done a motor swap (h23 -> h22)
or a pull and put back, in here? Is is fesable to swap my h23 out for an h22 if I start at like 6 in the morn on saturday and project to finish by the evening with just me and a friend doing it?

I pulled the D16 out of my old CRX, but never put it back it (the car was wrecked) it took a few hours.

well, I tried that and it just didn't seem possible that way because
the throughout brg. was too far toward the tranny side and there wasn't
clearance to pull the fork out or install it.

I was able to seperate the tranny about 3/4 of an inch and slide it in there
though
