I guess we'll find out soon. The Sedan got hammered with hail tonight. No broken windows, but broken tail lights and serious bumps on 3/4 of the car. Pillars are the worst, which is rather surprising.

I'll post some pics tomorrow, but it ain't pretty. At least the cars in the garage were safe and sound. I'd have been sick to seen any of those damaged.

Oh well, I wanted a new Si sedan anyways...

From what I have seen personally, 3/4 of the cars value, in damage, is usually totalled.

IE. a car worth $10,000, with $7,500 worth of damage usually is declared total.

Ive seen it go as low as 60%.

The good thing is, it includes labour. So while the paint and panels are cheap, the labor is what gets you that Si Sedan.

PS. That sucks, but new cars are always awesome.

Get the 07 sedan in white!

They know hail won't cause THAT much damage. Unfortunately...

I don't know if you guys remember or not, but my EM2 went through some serious hail damage last spring (pretty much after I got it). The total damage was about $4200. I needed a new hood, trunk lid, front windsheild, many "paintless" dent removals, and the roof even had to be sanded down and fixed traditionally (since it got hit so hard, the paint actually cracked). I doubt you've got more damage than that, considering I was on the highway, driving, when the storm hit.

Do some insurance companies consider hail an 'Act of God' and waive the deductable, or does the deductable still apply?

Can't get any clear pics as it has been raining out. As soon as the car dries I will know more.

Sux Todd,

a friend had the same problem a while back... WEIRDLY he called in a paintless dent removal guy, and they got the car looking flawless.

I've even had some work done by the guy and they can do some amazing things

and New Si Sedan FTW

How long will it take a dent removal guy to remove a couple hundred dents. What about the pillars?

Last time a dent removal guy was at my house it took him 3 hours to do 5 dents, and this guy was good.

A couple of pics. Can't get good pics of the trunk, top or hood as it is still dreary out.

it took the guy a day and a half to do my friends car after the work was done it was traded in and got ALOT more than he thought he was going to get.

A "good" guy can do all panels, he just might have to work to remove some inner panels if needed. i would sit down with the guy, ask him what he would need OFF the car and you can pull it off faster and probably CLEANER than he could

I still had to pay the deductable, and they even called the hail storm we had a "natural disaster" (because there were so many reports of damage).

I had dents on my pillars as well, which they somehow got removed. It took about 3 days for me to get my car back, simply because there were just so many people involved with the hail storm.
