Good 205/45/17 tires?
Been looking around at a bunch of different places. Located in the rain/thunderstorm capital of the country so wet traction is kinda important.
Are the Kumho Ecsta SPT's a good buy? Any other recommendations?

Reviews on that say the tread wears faster than most high performance, and easily hydroplanes....
Since you live in FL too, what have you experienced in the rain and how many miles are on those tires? I liked those tires too.

The tread wear... well, the tires i just replaced lasted a little less than 30k. I must also say that that was with "spirited" driving. I was actually only expecting <20 with them so I was very pleased with 30. I probably could have run on them for a little while longer, but chose not to.
Hydroplaning... I personally haven't had any trouble with that. I get on I-75 every day in the worst of downpoors. Just be smart and avoid the puddles
But I am on my second set now and love them. Some complain of road noise with them but it doesnt bother me.

i have es100s, they are decent. better than most all season but for "spirited driving" i would choose other.
if its just a daily driver, es100s are probably the most popular choice. they don't wear fast either. they just give up too early and aren't good for road courses.
