Default .6" drop and stock shocks

Great forum, been browsing around ever since I got my blue 94 Si a month ago.

I just got a set of Tein H Tech springs (.5 front, .6 rear). I know I should prooobably replace my shocks as well, especially since I've been hearing clunking from the rear suspension.

But.. would it be alright to install a set of NEW oem shocks w/ the springs? I want to keep the ride as stock as possible....

Thanks..

Oh yeah.. once I get all the JDM parts I ordered in, I'll post some pics. :D So far I've got in the works: JDM one piece lights, JDM amber bumper lights, OEM moonroof visor, JDM fog lights, and of course the drop. MAYBE I'll get a set of 15 or 16" rotas.. if I have enough money left. What do you guys think would look best with on a stock body dropped .5"? 15, 16 or 17" rims?

The H TECH are as close to the performance of OEM springs then anything out there. You should be OK with new OEM dampers with these springs. But, you can probably get better dampers that cost the same as or just slightly above the price for the OEM. Go with the Koni Sport. It'll probably cost you about a $100 more over the the set of OEM shocks.

On a 4th gen, the max wheel size I would choose would be 16". With your slight drop, I don't think wheel size would matter much, but the bigger the wheel, the better it would look, IMO.

I've got H Techs on my factory shocks and it's fine. Been on there almost a year, and hasn't blown yet. Ride is still fine. If you need new shocks, just get some KYB GR2's. They're like $60 each from Advance Auto

Hmm thanks for the input everyone.

Well money is kinda short right now so I think I'll see how long I can last on the stock shocks that are already on.

The rear clunking worries me tho.. hopefully it's just a loose mount.

If you think you need new shocks, then put off doing the springs until you have enough for shocks too. No sence in wasting 4 hours doing it once, then doing it again in a few months
