I just got my car running again and i picked up a gsr lsd tranny off ebay. It has a spoon sports lsd and was just put together and said to have never been ran. I got it in and i did some 8's to break it in then i went threw all the gears to find it verry hard to get it into the gears and impossable to get it into 4th. i tried shifting into 4th without the clutch just the rpms and still no luck. Anyone have any ideas about what it would be let me know. im thinking like a bent shift fork. But i dont know. Also if anyone knows someone who can work on honda trannys let me know. I dont know how much money i'm looking at but if anyone knows of a ball park to expect i would like to hear it thanks so much.

 

Is it getting locked out of gear you mean?
I had a similar problem when I rebuilt my tranny where it would not go in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th..
The actual thing that conects to the shift forks was broken and not lining up right and allowing it to into gear..

Does it grind when you try to put into 4th? Sounds like the clutch needs to be bled. Try putting it in reverse if it grinds then bleed the clutch and try again.

 

Can you shift easily with the car not running?

 

it moves into the position of 4th but it will grind and push away twords 3rd. It wont shift without using the clutch so i dont think its the clutch thanks for the ideas im pulling it tomorrow and i will see what it is. Any other things i need to know let me hear them ive never had a tranny rebuilt or even seen inside of one so i could use all the help on this that i can get thanks
